Don’t Stop Sharing

I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart be courageous.
Wait for the Lord.

Psalm 27:13-14

I’m coming off a week surrounded by women who share the same passion as me at a conference where the intended purpose was to get us to move forward in our God-given callings. I shared the story God has given to our family countless times, and each time it left me in awe at His goodness and faithfulness. Sharing your story will do that for you! It deepened my understanding of what He is calling me to, renewed my vision, and reignited my passion. I also know that my story encouraged others. That’s how God created us. That’s part of His plan - for us to be encouraged and our faith to be strengthened by the testimony of our brothers and sisters.

As I got dressed yesterday morning to head out to an appointment for Carson at “Big Cooks” as I’ve done countless other times, the enemy began to try and work his little schemes. I thought through all the times I’ve done what I did yesterday morning, all the times we’ve made last-minute, emergency trips over, and by the grace of God, the times we’ve been able to unpack bags we thought we’d need for overnight or in-patient stays.

And that’s where he dug his little manipulating fingers in. “How could you ever use your platform to share with others when you can’t begin to understand the pain others have been through?” This is a lie Satan has used in many different ways, at many different times, to try and get me to stop sharing our story. And that’s it. That’s his whole goal for some of us. It has honestly paralyzed me at times. If God’s children stop sharing their stories of the goodness of God, people that don’t know Him or have strayed from Him, or could use encouragement from Him, will miss out on an opportunity of seeing God’s goodness on display.

Don’t lose heart: When you live your life looking for His goodness, I promise you will find it! Psalm 27, verses 13 and 14 remind us of the words that David said, “I am certain I will find the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” And when you find it, don’t keep it to yourself. Share that goodness with others. It will build your faith, and theirs!

God doesn’t NEED me to ensure someone else knows Him. He’s God and He can do that all on His own. But He does ALLOW me to play a role in others learning more about who He is, what He has done for us, and how He loves us.

Who can you share your story with today to encourage in their own journey? Maybe you don’t even realize you have a story to share! I’d encourage you to sit down with a pen and some paper and list out all the ways you can recall that God has been good and faithful in your life. God wants us to REMEMBER what He’s done for us, and He wants us to SHARE what He’s done for us.
